'Quintessence' was not intended to be a Symbala, but a way to demonstrate some universal principles for a talk I am preparing on Golden Proportion Geometry. These principles are embodied in a powerful symbol - the apple! Easier to draw my ideas than put them into words, I began. What emerged was so wonderful, I completed it in a Symbala form.

No coincidence that an apple is the symbol for important concepts from the Garden of Eden to the codex key in "The Da Vinci Code." The word 'quintessence' means the pure, concentrated essence or most perfect embodiment of something. Also, notice it derives from the Latin root for five.

The 5 surrounding pieces of the Symbala are vertical cross-sections of the universal fruit and reveal the mother of all form - the three that are two that are one - the Vesica Piscis. The central circle is a horizontal cut of the apple revealing the star placement of the ovaries holding the seeds and leading to the 'PHI-ve' based connection to our understanding of Golden Proportion geometry.
