"I love symbols! They are our inner voices given some outer form that gets our attention. The third time the symbol comes to my attention I know it’s time to do some contemplation and some inner work. I want to share a sequence of experiences with you and the special Symbala that they inspired. "Several months ago I had a personal crisis with my teeth, an old bugaboo. I thought I was taking it in good spirits, but realized it had really brought me low. I have a window in my bathroom that allows me to gaze at a treetop in front of the house while making use of the facilities. I was sitting there with full awareness about how truly depressed I was, when ZAP! A magenta flash as bright as a neon sign appeared at the top of the tree. It was very small, but very brilliant and flashed intermittently. I was wrestling with figuring out what it could be when two things happened. I suddenly realized it was a hummingbird’s throat exalted by a brief sun break in our Seattle skies. And I also realized that I wasn’t depressed anymore – I was happy and excited! "That was experience One, which led directly to experience Two. That night my daughter called me and during our conversation I shared the gift of this event with her. My daughter and I have been on a healing road for many years after a rocky beginning and a long estrangement. She’s a remarkable woman and I’m so grateful to be part of her life again. So any time she shares something deeply personal with me, it is cause for major joy. She is a successful landscape designer and gardener so spends a lot of time outdoors among flowers, etc. When I shared my experience, she shared some of hers back and then came the revelation. My very ‘spiritual from a distance’ daughter told me that, for her, the magic of looking into the eyes of a hummingbird hovering directly in front of her face had convinced her that there really was a God! She had also rescued one and holding it in her hand was like holding a wisp of air - so special. "By the time experience Three popped up, soon after the second one, I was deep in the magic. I went to see the movie, 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button'. Even in the movie, the hummingbird appeared 3 times. The first time its impossible abilities were described by the tugboat captain, even though we didn't actually see one. He explained how the fast beating wingtips inscribed a figure 8 as the bird held a stationary, aerial position - the symbol for infinity. Then a real hummingbird appeared for Benjamin way out over the water after a devastating sea battle in WWII. One made a final appearance to Benjamin's beloved Daisy outside the window of the hospital where she was dying during a hurricane. Well, you could have knocked me over with a hummingbird feather as I walked out of that movie! Shortly afterwards, the Symbala came through. "I named the Symbala, ‘Feathered Messenger’. It’s full of magic, excitement, happiness and possibility, all parts of my experiences with it. I created it with love, the magic of ‘PHI’ves and the awareness of how this interdimensional messenger makes the impossible, possible." With Loving Resonance, Lahrinda |
